If you do not reside in Monterrey, the first step is to contact the clinic either by email through this page, or by phone. You will then be sent a medical questionnaire, which must be filled in detail. If you require, you can have a phone conference with the doctor or you can contact him via email to get more information about the different surgical procedures. Once the appropriate surgical procedure is established, according to your degree of obesity and existence of health related conditions, laboratory tests will be conducted; and after the doctor goes through your results, the date for surgery will be set.
If you live in Monterrey
By attending the Center for Integral Treatment of Obesity (CTIO), a complete medical history will be recorded. This includes:
- Information regarding obesity, such as onset age, prior attempts to lose weight, and highest and lowest weight reached during adulthood.
- An anthropometric assessment, to determine your body composition and degree of obesity
- A questionnaire to determine the existence of health related conditions, such as type 2 diabetes, sleep apnea, hypertension, dyslipidemia, etc.
- You will be asked about your family history, smoking and alcohol consumption, and current medications.
This assessment will allow the clinic to establish if you are a viable candidate for surgery, and will help the doctor select the best surgical procedure for you considering your degree of obesity and health related conditions.
